Nissan has taken its first all-electric SUV, the Ariya, out for a test drive across Monte-Carlo, where stages of the Formula One and Formula E took place not long ago.
The goal was to demonstrate the bold exterior design of the EV and the capabilities of its e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system. The new model incorporated the most modern of Nissan technology, and symbolized the coming of a new stage of car electrification.
The Nissan Ariya Concept debuted in 2020 and will be coming to the market in two variants: single-motor and dual-motor (front+rear). There will also be two battery sizes to choose from, 63 and 87 kilowatt-hours. The range will correspond to 360 and 500 kilometers (223 – 310 miles, WLTP-rated).
Main target markets will include Japan, the United States, Europe, and China.
