2026 Nissan Ariya shows up for the first time

Nissan will be bringing a facelifted Ariya SUV to the Japan Mobility Show at the end of the month, but in the meantime, we can take a look at these official photos.

Although the Ariya was announced in 2020, it only reached production in 2022, so the company considers this a planned mid-life refresh. Based on the images, the SUV will conform to the automaker’s current design language and look a bit like a bloated Nissan Leaf at a glance.

The front end gets rid of the large black trim insert and gets new headlights with what seems to be integrated anti-fog lamps: at least, there are no visible standalone fog lights. The vertical side intakes are also gone, and the lower apron looks more understated than before.

Nissan says nothing about any possible powertrain updates, but promises us a modern infotainment system with Google services, recalibrated suspension and power sharing for appliances and households.

The new Nissan Ariya will go on sale in Japan in early 2026, followed by the rest of the world later on. The automaker has also announced the fourth-generation Emgrand for the Japan Mobility Show, but hasn’t posted any images or details yet. All we know is that the minivan is supposed to become more spacious and comfortable while benefitting from the latest in-car tech. For the powertrain, Nissan plans to outfit it with the third-gen e-Power hybrid system.
