1970 Nissan Fairlady Z432R goes up on sale, should break a few records

B&H Auction House is offering an ultra-rare Nissan Fairlady Z432R coupe for sale, with the expected price in the range of 73 – 83 million Japanese Yen (668,000 – 760,000 USD). If the deal succeeds, this will make this car one of the marque’s most profitable ever.

The Nissan Fairlady Z432R is essentially a souped-up version of the 240Z rally car. It comes powered by a 2.0-liter, six-cylinder engine rated at 160 hp (120 kW) and the five-speed manual transmission of the 1st-gen Skyline GT-R.

The hood is made of carbon fiber, and the bodywork and glass is much thinner/lighter than the 240Z. The heating and the audio system have been removed, and the standard 60-liter fuel tank has been replaced with a larger 100-liter rally-spec tank.

Nissan does not provide precise data on the production volume of the Fairlady Z432R, but says that no more than 50 has been built to date.
