When Nissan unveiled its long-awaited Frontier pickup in April, what we got was a top trim called Pro-4X. The latest spy shots reveal what the most basic trim looks like.
The Frontier S still wears some camo and sports a number of black plastic details on both bumpers and the radiator grille. The door handles are also black, helping to reinforce the general ‘it’s a budget car’ impression.
Looking at the suspension and the tires, we assume that this is a front-wheel drive model. This means it comes powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The front axle receives up to 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) along with 381 Nm (281 lb-ft) of torque.
All Frontier trucks come with an extensive safety aid package, which notably includes an advanced frontal collision warning.
