Hiroshi Tamura, the Chief Product Specialist for the Nissan GT-R, said that the company is in no hurry to design the next generation of the famed sports car. The new GT-R might go in several directions, one of these being all-electric.
According to him, the current generation has only been around for 13 years – not too long in supercar terms. Therefore, the company does not see developing the next generation as a priority right now. That said, it keeps studying the market and determining what its customers really want. Should they decide that the next GT-R has to be all-electric, it likely will be just that.
The new Nissan GT-R, whenever it arrives, may also take advantage of a self-drive system that will take over the control over the car when its owner travels from circuit to circuit.
