A Study in Red: Nissan GT-R R32 gets 800 HP and unique looks

The history of the Nissan GT-R dates back many decades, but true fame came to it with the launch of the R32 generation in 1989. Let us review one of the most impressively tuned examples hailing from that era.

The first thing that hits the senses is just how red the supercar is. The eye-watering paintjob covers most of the kit, the brake lights, the five-spoke forged wheels and even the windows – as a semi-transparent tinting film, of course.

The gallery below shows the GT-R with two versions of wheels, including the newer multi-spoke set finished in black. Whichever you pick, there is still plenty of red left for everyone to look back at your unique ride.

Things don’t stay nearly stock under the hood, either. The six-cylinder, single-turbo engine enjoys a complete overhaul that raises its output nearly three times the factory values – from 280 to 800 hp (209 -> 597 kW, respectively). The transmission if five-speed manual, and all four wheels help deliver the power to the asphalt.

Interested in buying this R32 with its latest Porsche Turbo S-like performance and 20,000 miles (32,000 km) under the belt? Tough luck, its current owner doesn’t feel like selling it anytime soon. Hopefully, the gallery shots will serve as a source of inspiration for other, similar projects.
