Nissan R35 GT-R farewell series announced with GT-R50 engines

The R35 generation of the Nissan GT-R officially retires in two years’ time. The farewell edition planned for that time will come equipped with the same engine as the rare collector’s piece, the GT-R50. A total of 20 cars will roll off the lines priced at 40 million JPY (around 375,000 USD).

The R35 Final Edition will draw its power from the iconic 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 used by Nissan GT3 racecars. It will feature enhanced ignition and updated fuel and oil injectors. The output will amount to 720 hp (537 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque.

In earlier news, multiple sources have reported that the next iteration of the GT-R would go hybrid.
