Review: Is Italdesign-tuned Nissan GT-R50 Anniversary Edition worth $1M+?

Ever since coming out more than a decade ago, the Nissan GT-R (R35) has been a crowd favorite thanks to its outstanding specs and affordable price. The newest GT-R50 by Italdesign aims to improve over the original, but it comes in at more than 10 times the price – is it really worth that much?

Thomas Geiger, who was given a pre-production test car for review, believes so. In his short (under 6 minutes long) video, he manages to mention all the crucial aspects that make the GT-R what it is, and concludes that it is a real joy to drive, even as a prototype.

The 50th anniversary edition comes out in collaboration with Nissan and uses a 3.8-liter turbo six-cylinder tuned by Nismo to a dizzying 720 PS (710 hp / 529 kW). Exterior novelty encompasses both bumpers, headlights, the radiator grille and the active rear wing with a hydraulic drive. Numerous gloss black accents wrap things up on the outside.
