Video: Watch a near-perfect Nissan GT-R undergo full detailing

Imagine hunting for an R32 Nissan GT-R for months only to locate a pristine example sitting in a private collection somewhere. This 32-year-old sports car fit the bill perfectly – and yet the first thing its buyer did was send it to a detailer’s shop.

Hong Kong-based Contempo Concept carried out the job. The coupe, which had only around 7,000 km (4,350 miles) under its belt, received a full round of dry-ice blasting, after which its suspension and chassis received a fresh coat of protective wax. Two whole days went into polishing the paint, although it looked virtually new to begin with.

The next step was to spruce up the interior, which the detailing team did with great attention to detail, getting rid of the smallest defects. The dashboard ended up a new lens and the center console was replaced completely because the leather base of the handbrake went slightly shiny with age. Apparently, Nissan did not provide for the opportunity of changing just the lever base trim.

Rounding things off, the customer ordered the wheel and the gear lever replaced as well. The lever we can understand, because it was a non-original part borrowed from an R33-generation Godzilla, but we were unable to find any justification for the wheel. Perhaps you think differently when you are a diehard GT-R fan.

No pricing details were given, but we cannot fathom anyone driving the car ever again.
