Nissan GT-R sold out via pre-orders in Japan

Nissan is no longer taking pre-orders for the latest GT-R in Japan, Carscoops reports adding that the manufacturer must have reached its production quota for this year. It remains uncertain whether the company will resume production in 2023.

The Nissan HQ declined comment, pointing out that the company never discussed its future products or plans.

On its domestic market, the latest 2022 Nissan GT-R came in a performance-boosted Nismo version and a limited edition called the T-Spec, complete with upgraded brakes, carbon-fiber body kit parts and exclusive finish options.

The model left Europe a couple of months ago just as it ceased to comply with the local emission and noise pollution standards. In addition to this, customers in Europe tended to complain about it being overpriced. Carscoops adds that the GT-R is no longer shipped to Australia, either, while the USA still has 2021MY stock on sale.

While not official, there is a chance that Nissan is working on the next generation – this would explain the closing of the pre-order books.
