Watch an older Nissan GT-R slam the dyno with 800 PS

Few vehicles are as iconic in the tuning community as the Nissan R34 GT-R. Having been introduced in the distant 1999, it can still show some supercars the taillights with a bit of tune-up. Watch the video to see what this old-timer is still capable of.

In its factory guise, the Japanese coupe has a 2.6-liter inline-six engine under the hood rated at 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW) and 391 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. Moderate weight and proper aero enable it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds.

The example in the video benefits from a massively upgraded turbocharger, a larger intercooler, sports-grade intake and exhaust, and an ECU remap. As a result, it pumps out nearly three times the usual amount of power – north of 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW). Check out the dyno tests, it’s real!
