A 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R with over 150,000 kilometers (93,000 miles) under its belt is looking for a new home and has already been bid to $154,000. The final price is expected to be between $200,000 and $400,000. Why is it so expensive? There are a few reasons.
First, the car comes finished in a rare shade called Midnight Purple II. The listing claims only 282 vehicles received this treatment from Nissan.
Second, for all its mileage, the Japanese classic stays nearly stock. Most Skyline GT-R units on sale these days are heavily modded, but this one retains its RB26 mill with 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW), six-speed M/T, 4WS and Brembo brakes. Aftermarket additions boil down to a Pioneer head unit, an M-Spec steering wheel and new mirrors.
As a V-spec car, it also benefits from a stiffer suspension setup with Öhlins shocks, an active differential and an upgraded body kit. Only around 4,200 such coupes have been made in total.
Despite considerable wear, including small rust specks and dents all around the body, the car is in a fairly good condition.
