Nissan North America has announced two special GT-R trims set for release in the USA this summer. Dubbed the T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition, they will be produced in small numbers and only sold through select dealerships.
Starting with the T-spec Takumi Edition, it pays respect to the artisanal excellence of the company’s Takumi masters who take pride in assembling the 3.8-liter VR38DETT engines by hand. Each car has two plaques in its engine bay: a silver one bearing the name of the engineer in red embossed lettering, and a gold-tinted one with the serial number of the chassis. Like many iconic Skyline and GT-R modifications throughout the decades, this one comes finished in Midnight Purple that it combines with an exclusive Mori Green interior.
Like the mainline GT-R T-spec set for release in 2024, the Takumi Edition gets flared front fenders, 20-inch Rays Forged wheels finished in a gold tint, GT-R Nismo carbon-ceramic brakes, and a stability control system fine-tuned by Nissan’s in-house tuning subdivision.
As for the Skyline Edition, it is based off the affordable Premium spec and has purely cosmetic tweaks to offer. Its Bayside Blue livery originates from the classic Skyline palette that existed before the GT-R evolved into a standalone sports car. The interior sports a new primary color known as the Sora Blue, which goes along with black details and carbon-fiber accents.
All further details and pricing info will become available later, Nissan says.
