Nissan unveils the new 2020 Juke

Following a long series of teaser images, Nissan has finally revealed the new generation of its compact SUV bestseller, the Juke.

Since its market debut in 2010, the first generation of the car has found over 1,000,000 owners worldwide. This naturally implied that, in trying to improve upon it, Nissan would need to keep the appearance as fashionable as possible. The main headlights still sport the recognizable two-tier design, and the overall silhouette of the car still emanates an aura of sporty agility. The boomerang-like taillights are gone, though.
Buyers of the 2020 Juke gain access to a wider paint palette and wheels up to 19 inches in size. You may also opt for a contrasting roof now (three colors available).

At 4,210 mm (13.81 ft.) long, 1,800 mm (5.91 ft.) wide and 1,595 mm (5.23 ft.) tall, the newcomer is marginally larger than its predecessor, but still manages to weigh 23 kilos (50 lbs) less. The rear seat row now offers more legroom than before, and the trunk volume goes up to 422 liters (14.9 cubic feet).

The cabin has been completely redesigned. The 2020 Nissan Juke gains the Nissan Connect multimedia unit with an 8-inch display and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay support. A Bose sound system and the ProPilot driver aid package are both paid options.

For the time being, the car only ships with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine rated at 117 hp (87 kW). Transmissions include six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT. Later updates to the lineup will introduce a new gasoline engine rated at 200 hp (150 kW), a 1.5-liter diesel, AWD, and a hybrid powertrain.

The live presentation event will be simultaneously held in Barcelona, Cologne, Milan and Paris. Like before, the company’s factory in Sunderland, Great Britain, will handle all production in Europe. First buyers should get their cars in late November this year, Nissan says.
