Nissan Leaf E-Plus to debut in January

Nissan had initially promised to debut Leaf E-Plus – the updated version of its compact all-electric hatchback series – in the fall of 2018. However, the premiere was postponed following the arrest of the company’s CEO. Now it seems like the new Leaf will celebrate its live debut at the CES show in Las-Vegas in January 2019.

The official announcement issued by the company omits the specifics, but mentions that there will be a ‘reveal of a new car’.

Rumor has it that the E-Plus will offer 362 km (225 mi) in terms of driving range, as opposed to just 240 km (150 mi) of the standard Leaf. A more powerful electric engine will allegedly reduce the standard 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time from 7.9s to 6.5s.

The E-Plus may enter the market in Europe as early as spring 2019. Early estimates place its price at around €5,800 above the current-gen Nissan Leaf.
