Nissan Magnite set to debut on July 16

Nissan has released another teaser video of its upcoming Magnite SUV, along with the reveal date. The affordable crossover will go live tomorrow, July 16, and hit the showrooms in 2021 as a cheaper alternative to the Juke.

The short vid reveals the vehicle almost completely, showing such distinguishing features as a large octagonal grille, two-tier LED lights, “squinting” headlamps and boomerang-shaped daytime running lights.

The car is likely based on the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Triber and Kwid, which only supports front-wheel drive.

While not official, our guess is that the Magnite will ship with a choice between a turbocharged three-cylinder engine rated at 72 hp (54 kW) and a non-turbo 1.0 mill capable of 95 hp (71 kW). Gearbox choices will boil down to five-speed manual and CVT. Whether true or not, we will know for sure tomorrow.
