Nissan has unveiled its newest compact crossover, the Magnite, in India. It is still considered a concept vehicle for the time being, but production should start soon.
According to Nissan CEO, the Magnite is an “evolutionary transformation of the marque’s SUV DNA.”
On the outside, the affordable compact boast dual-section headlights and an octagonal radiator grille. The cabin remains hidden from view, but the company promises to make it the most spacious in this market segment. An advanced infotainment system with an eight-inch display, a climate control unit and a slew of other modern features should deliver the necessary level of comfort.
Regrettably, the engine range hasn’t been mentioned during the reveal at all. The media consensus is that the SUV comes based on the CMF-A platform of the Renault Triber and uses a turbo one-liter, three-cylinder engine rated at 72 hp (54 kW) or something similar.
Nissan will first launch the Magnite in India and later bring it to other markets as well.
