The original Nissan Magnite Concept emerged in July (watch the video if you missed it) with only one photo of its production version to go by. Today, the company uploaded new patent images showing the affordable crossover SUV from all the main angles.
The mass-produced Magnite looks much like its prototype, except maybe for the added anti-fog lamps and the somewhat toned-down bumpers. No cabin shots have been made so far, but we expect the interior to mimic its concept predecessor as well. This means a digital dashboard, a large infotainment display and handy climate control knobs. All-around view cameras and cruise control are also likely to be in the feature list.
Nothing is being said about the platform the CUV is based upon, but Indian media claim it shares the CMF-A architecture with the Datsun redi-GO, Renault Kwid and Renault Triber. To secure tax deductions in India, Nissan will likely make it under four meters (13.1 ft.) long.
It is assumed that the Magnite will ship with 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines ranging from the 72-hp / 54-kW mill of the Renault Triber to a 95-hp / 71-kW turbocharged version. The former will probably be available with five-speed manual and DCT gearboxes, while the latter should ship with a choice between manual and CVT. Front-wheel drive is going to be the only option.
Customers in India – the main target market – will receive their cars next year. The premiere may as well take place later in 2020, but the exact date has not been set yet. The model may later appear in other countries (list pending) and emerge under Renault branding.
