Nissan March gets another refresh in Mexico

The Euro-spec Nissan Micra has traded its old chassis for the Renault Clio platform in its fifth generation that came out in the fall of 2016. However, its twin model – the Nissan March – has stayed largely unchanged since 2009.

The fourth-gen March is available on select Asian and Latin American markets, and will be getting another mid-generational refresh in the coming weeks. While its previous facelifts mostly boiled down to new bumpers and other styling cues, the latest one introduces a completely redone front fascia that looks much more in line with Nissan’s other models. The taillights received new light elements, and the rear bumper has been reshaped. The black roof was available before, but the update introduces black pillars as well.

Interior highlights include a new center console and steering wheel, while the infotainment system has been reworked and now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The standard feature list mentions six airbags.

The powertrain stays stock, meaning that the car draws its power from a 1.6-liter engine rated at 106 PS (105 hp / 78 kW). Customers in Mexico may choose between five-speed manual and four-speed auto for the transmission, while other markets make do with a CVT.

Production in Mexico is starting in a few weeks, but sales won’t begin until May 2021.
