Judging by these spy shots posted on Carscoops, Nissan has been testing a new Murano SUV on the streets lately. It is still unclear whether it’s a whole new generation or just a major facelift, but there are reports that a new engine is on the list, too.
Starting with the exterior, the front fascia is completely different. The radiator grille and the headlights make the new Murano look a bit like the Nissan Pathfinder for China. The glass dome has been reshaped, the pillars redesigned and the rear fenders stamped into a different shape.
The photographer has managed to snap the cabin as well. Apparently, there is a different dashboard with a new display unit and a revised center console. The climate controls are all new, too.
Based on reports, Carscoops supposes that the new Murano may drop its current 3.5-liter V6 in favor for a more efficient four-cylinder unit. It may also ditch the CVT for a nine-speed AT. Both the premiere and the sales start are expected later this year.
