Nissan has revealed the updated Note lineup for the domestic market, giving the five-door car a different front end, a better-appointed base trim and a more comfortable and functional interior. The sales will begin in late January starting from ¥2,299,000 (U.S. $16,000).
The nose retains its usual V-shaped configuration, but loses the frame around the radiator grille and gets new elements below the headlights. The horizontal grille bars can now be optioned in the same color as the car body or finished in dark grey; the default color depends on the trim level. The front bumper has been redesigned, too, and Nissan says the wheels are now inspired by traditional Japanese ornaments. The same motif can be found on the dashboard.
LED lighting all around is now a part of the base spec. The glove compartment is divided in two sections thanks to a horizontal partition, offering more utility and ease of use. Owners can now use a digital key fob feature to unlock the doors remotely or lock them when leaving the car.
Nothing has been revealed about the tech thus far. The current hatchback uses a 112-PS (110-hp / 81-kW) electric motor for propulsion, which sources its power from a 1.2-liter, 82-PS (81-hp / 60-kW) petrol engine. Its AWD counterpart adds another e-motor driving the rear axle with 68 PS (67 hp / 50 kW). It starts at ¥2,580,000.
