Check out the newest SUV of the Dubai Police

Dubai Police has gotten its hands on a new toy named Ghiath Smart Patrol. W Motors, the same company that designed the famous Lykan hypercar, built the Ghiath based on Nissan Patrol chassis.

The car comes with all-new body kit and lighting, and sports additional styling elements and strobe lights. Only the window line can tell you what model it is based upon.

Things are no less wild in the cabin, where steering wheel, door panels and some minor details remain stock while the rest is all new. For instance, there is now a digital dashboard, a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a second display in front of the passenger seat.

The rese of the cabin serves as a detention cell with only basic trim, primitive plastic seats and window bars. Equipment on board include eight cameras capable of face recognition and a quadcopter for remote supervision.

In all likelihood, the engine stays stock. Nissan sells its Patrol Nismo in the UAE with a 5.6-liter V8 engine rated at 428 PS (422 hp / 315 kW).

The police department of Dubai has already accepted ten such vehicles, and is planning on acquiring 400 more in the coming five years priced at the equivalent of $136,000 each. This may eventually make the Patrol even more popular than the first police car produced by W Motors, a similar SUV built on Chevrolet Suburban chassis three and a half years ago.
