Nissan Qashqai spied underway to another facelift

Nissan has taken its third-generation Qashqai crossover out for some road tests. Once updated, the vehicle will go on sale with new engines to choose from and modern electronic assists to enjoy.

The camo wrap prevents us from seeing smaller details, but it is reasonable to expect Juke-like overall styling, as well as some visual cues borrowed from the last year’s IMQ Concept (shown in the video). The cabin is probably due a complete redesign, and a couple of new hybrid powertrains are expected as well. The diesel engines may end up discontinued, replaced by the Nissan ePower and Mitsubishi hybrid solutions. The gasoline lineup will likely take advantage of 48-volt starter-generators.

The premiere date remains unannounced; in all likelihood, the new 2021 Qashqai will be unveiled later this year and ship next year. Right now, the fourth-gen Nissan X-Trail is by far the most anticipated of the 12 new models the Japanese automaker intends to show us within the next 18 months.
