Nissan has officially revealed what powertrains the third-gen Qashqai will ship with in Europe. Apparently, there are no non-electrified ICE options.
The range-topping spec will utilize the e-Power system of the Note and Serena models for Japan. Specifically, it will use an electric motor rated at 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 157 PS (155 hp / 115 kW) acting solely as a range extender.
The Nissan Qashqai e-Power will also make use of e-Pedal, a feature that combines acceleration and braking in a single pedal.
Another option will arrive in the form of a Qashqai mild hybrid powered by a 1.3-liter gas turbo engine. Two power options will be available: 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) and 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW). A low-power electric motor will contribute 6 Nm (4 lb-ft) of torque and help save fuel. Transmissions will include six-speed manual and CVT, and buyers will be able to choose between FWD and AWD.
The launch remains scheduled for this winter.
