Nissan continues teasing us with fresh images of its next-gen Qashqai SUV set to premiere on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
The latest teaser vid features a car wearing a two-tone paintjob and taillights shaped like those of the larger Rogue model, which changed generations in mid-2020. This is in line with the U.S. naming of the Qashqai: in North America, the car is called Nissan Rogue Sport.
The already familiar interior has what looks like a 12.3-inch digital dash, a 9-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, massaged front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, a small gear joystick, a drive mode selector (AWD only), and USB ports. Options will likely include a 10.8-inch HUD and a Bose audio system with a subwoofer and ten satellite speakers.
Customers in Europe will probably only get electrified powertrains. The top e-Power spec is expected to be a serial hybrid/range extender, which means its petrol engine functions solely as a power generator for the main electric motor. A mild-hybrid spec with 1.3 liters of displacement and a 12V starter-generator is also likely to appear, promising better fuel efficiency and smooth acceleration.
