Nissan has announced slashing its car production targets by 17% in the United States, in addition to firing 1,000 workers as announced before.
The declining popularity of the Rogue SUV – known as the X-Trail in other regions – seems to be the automaker’s biggest concern right now. Rogue sales slumped by 24% in the third quarter of 2024, worsening profit expectations. With the model being responsible for around a quarter of all Nissan vehicle sales in North America, this is a big issue.
At the same time, the Japanese marque’s overall sales in the region declined by a comparatively mild 1.4%.
