Nissan and NISMO are offering OEM-side restoration of the legendary R32 generation of the GT-R, promising top-notch quality and precision.
NISMO will refer to the original model documentation to ensure the best possible results. Specialists will examine the body for defects and measure all components for correct geometrical parameters, making a list of deformed and otherwise degraded parts.
All non-OEM, repainted and restored components will be replaced with new counterparts bearing ID numbers. Engines will be reverted to stock parameters.
The restoration will occur in four stages: body restoration, unit restoration (includes engine overhaul when necessary), interior and plastics overhaul, and re-assembly and testing. The last point refers to dyno stand tests and live racetrack tests carried out by qualified NISMO test pilots.
The first fully restored Skyline will emerge next spring. Prices remain to be announced.
