Nissan teases another Nismo sports car

Nissan will be adding another performance-focused Nismo sports car to its lineup. The premiere will be broadcast online on August 8, but in the meantime, the manufacturer’s website is displaying a countdown timer along with a teaser photo of the car.

It looks like a vaguely sedan-shaped light passenger car with a long hood and a slanting roof. The company avoids calling it by name, but we suspect it could be the saloon known as Nissan Skyline in Japan and as Infiniti Q50 elsewhere.

The latest generation of that model came out nine long years ago and has already received two facelifts – in 2017 and 2019. In its top spec, the car utilizes the same 3.0-liter V6 rated at 405 PS (400 hp / 299 kW) as the Nissan Z.

Speaking of which, the Nissan Z received its own Nismo version not long ago – you can see it in the rest of the gallery and the video below. Among other things, it had its power dialed up to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW). Chances are good that the Skyline/Q50 will be getting the same makeover from Nismo.
