2020 Nissan Titan debuts with slightly revised looks, boosted V8

Nissan has unveiled its facelifted Titan pickup truck at the ongoing State Fair of Texas in the USA. The car gained some exterior and cabin improvements along with an engine performance boost.

Starting on the outside, the 2020 Nissan Titan boasts new bumpers all around, three selectable front grille glow modes, LED taillights, and truck bed lighting (also LED-based). The headlights still use the old lamps, but LEDs are available optionally.

The interior changes are much more dramatic. There are now as many as eight airbags, special seats claimed to strike the ergonomic golden standard between soft and rigid, and a 7-inch, colorful digital dash. The multimedia has an 8-inch touchscreen by default and supports over-the-air updates. The Wi-Fi hotspot can hook up six devices at most.

By default, all pickups ship with the preinstalled Safety Shield 360 package, which contains automatic high/low beam, AEB, blind zone monitor, and road marking recognition.

Powering the model is the same old 5.6-liter gasoline V8, albeit boosted from its original 395 hp (295 kW) and 534 Nm (394 lb-ft) of torque to 406 hp (303 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft). It benefits from a better nine-speed automatic transmission that came to replace the old seven-speed one. Later on, the facelifted Titan XD will join the 2020 lineup with a diesel engine.

The new Nissan Titan will go on sale in the USA early next year.
