Nissan spruces up the old X-Trail in Japan

The next-gen Nissan Rogue is already on sale in the United States after its June launch, but the international version called X-Trail continues to receive minor updates. Today, new trim levels have been announced for the Japanese version.

On the outside, the 2021 Nissan X-Trail sports a Dark Chrome finish on its central radiator grille, bumper inserts and tailgate, as well as new moldings and body-matching door handles.

The off-road-capable X-Tremer X spec receives special anti-fog lights, a different front bumper and assorted black details, such as roof railings, rood handles and radiator grille. The Autech trim also gets its own grille design alongside 19-inch wheels, silvery bumper inlays, Sachs shock absorbers, and special cabin upholstery.

Other than that, the interior stays largely unchanged. The gear selector now comes wrapped in leather in all versions, and the front seats offer multiple power adjustments. Customers can opt for black leather trim on these if they want to, and the ProPilot safety suite now includes adaptive cruise control and lane control.

The powertrains stay stock, including the 2.0-liter four-cylinder wit 147 hp (110 kW) and its part-electric variant. CVT is the only transmission type available, but the drive can be on the front axle or both.

Sales in Japan begin in early November.
