The new Nissan X-Trail, known as the Rogue in the USA, debuted on that market in the summer of 2020. Its Chinese cousin followed suit last spring, and the Japanese version has only arrived now, priced from ¥3,198,800.
The crossover SUV looks and feels largely the same as anywhere else with only minor stylistic differences. Uniquely, customers in Japan can order a larger three-row variant of it, while buyers everywhere else must make do with only two seat rows.
The JDM spec also utilizes an e-Power hybrid system based on a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine acting as a power source for the main traction battery and motor. Another motor mounted on the rear axle turns on when AWD functionality is required. Paying extra unlocks parking assistance, all-around view cameras and a rudimentary self-driving system.
