Nissan Z finds new inner strengths thanks to tuners from U.S.

The 2023 Nissan Z (see video) hasn’t been with us for long yet, but Chicago-based AMS Performance has already produced an engine upgrade for it.

The company – which is renowned as the creator of some of the world’s most thrust-happy GT-R models in existence, used a software tune to boost the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 to 458 PS (452 hp / 337 kW) and 709 Nm (523 lb-ft) of torque. To put things into perspective, the stock car makes 406 PS (400 hp / 298 kW) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. Note also that the official measurements are made at the crank, while the tuner’s numbers are dyno numbers measured after any transmission losses, meaning the gains are even greater than they seem.

In addition to the above, the car received an aftermarket exhaust system and was tanked with high-octane racing fuel for its dyno test. AMS says it is still a work in progress and better results are to be expected.
