Automotive startup Nuro has been developing automated delivery transports for a long time now, and this still-nameless creation is the third iteration of the original concept.
The self-driving vehicle comes equipped with an ergonomic cargo department divided into spaces storing up to 225 kg (500 lbs) of delivery goods. Customers are supposed to use a smartphone app to unlock their locker and accept the delivery. A climate control system on board can maintain individual cells at a desired temperature within the range of -5…+47 ºC (+23…+117 ºF).
Autoliv, another company that participates in the project, designed a frontal airbag meant to be mounted on the front end of the car. This way, cyclists, bikers and pedestrians can count on a certain degree of protection in the event of a collision.
The Nuro EV is still an early concept at this time.
