One of the loudest bargains in automotive industry will be closed until the end of this week. The group of companies PSA Peugeot Citroën will buy Opel from the American General Motors carmaker after all. French should give about 2 billion dollars for the assets of German company. Bloomberg reports about it.
Though the final amount of the deal between French and Americans isn't determined yet, it is already known, that at least one billion dollars will go for the debt repayment. The official announcement about the sale of Opel will be made on Thursday, February 23.
In case of successful completion of the transaction, it won't occur serious rearrangements in the leadership of the German automaker. Most likely, plans of global electrification of the models, about which it was recently announced by the head of Opel, will be implemented into reality.
