Future Opel cars will follow a new design direction, which has recently been demonstrated by the brand. Its main distinguishing feature will be called Visor. Visor will combine the radiator grille and the headlights in a single car part. We will be able to see what it looks like in the next Corsa generation.
The new stylistic direction has been conceptualized by Opel’s own design center staff. It strives to highlight the importance of Opel’s recent inclusion in the Peugeot-Citroen alliance.
There will also be a new glass-based instrument panel, called Pure Panel. Pure Panel represents the concept of “purity and expression”, which is currently predominant in the Peugeot-Citroen Group design philosophy. According to Opel Head of Design Mark Adams, the team was asked to sketch up the simplest-looking instrument panel imaginable, avoiding any kind of complication.
Opel entered the Peugeot-Citroen Group last year. The sum of the contract exceeded €2,000,000,000.
