Opel demonstrates its future design vision

Teaser pics featuring an Opel design study have recently been released online by the manufacturer. The vehicle is called GT X Experimental and is scheduled for premiere later this year.

The veil conceals what is most probably a hatchback. Given that the company is preparing to release the next generation of Opel Corsa, chances are good that it is one of those.

Based on the photo, the show car is all-electric (look at the fake radiator grille that forms a single assembly with the front lights).

There is also an unpainted front bumper, which normally means an off-road variant of the vehicle.

Opel has previously announced that the next-generation Corsa will get gasoline and all-electric engines. The former will be available starting in 2019, the latter in 2020.

The new design won’t be exclusive to Opel vehicles, though. It will also extend to Vauxhall cars, since both brand now belong to the PSA Group.
