Car manufacturers Opel and Vauxhall have premiered a design study that they developed in cooperation with each other and that demonstrates the new design philosophy of the German and the English brand.
The conceptual EV is called the GT X Experimental. It is a rather small-sized SUV based on a lightweight chassis. The car is 4,063 mm (13.33 ft.) long, 1,830 mm (6 ft.) wide and 1,528 mm (5 ft.) tall with 2,625 mm (8.61 ft.) between the axles.
Its two main design features are called Compass and Visor. Both will eventually be adopted by all Opel and Vauxhall cars. The Compass is a uniform hood/bumper design concept which resembles an actual compass. The Visor is a purely visual element that makes the radiator grille and the headlights look like a single unit.
The interior is minimalistic, with a digital instrument panel in the central part of the dashboard surrounded by two smaller camera displays. There are four slightly raised separate seats.
The first production vehicle to benefit from the GT X Experimental design philosophy is going to be the next-generation Opel Corsa that debuts in 2019.
