The original Opel Corsa A came out exactly four decades ago, in 1982, and will now be returning to us in spirit using the body of the latest Corsa. Here’s what it looks like.
The special edition of the small-displacement car comes finished in a historically accurate shade of red that creates a nice contrast with its black roof. Darkened pillars all around create the illusion of a levitating top.
Opel will be offering the limited series with 17-inch alloy wheels sporting gloss-black spokes and matte accents, as well as a number of other black details throughout the body. These will include the radiator grille, the lower bumper mesh, the side mirror housings and the rear spoiler.
Inside, the seats come wrapped in tartan upholstery and a memorial plate resides on the dashboard showing the unique serial number of the vehicle. To further the symbolism, Opel intends to produce and sell exactly 1,982 units.
