Opel has revealed detailed engine specifications of its Corsa GSi performance hatchback it introduced last month.
Apparently, the new and shiny Opel Corsa GSi gets a 1.4-liter turbocharged V4 engine capable of producing up to 150 hp (112 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb·ft) of torque. It is likely a reworked version of the B14XFT engine with a somewhat improved emission profile. The same engine gets installed on Opel Astra K hatchback models.
The soon-to-be-released Corsa GSi accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 8.9 seconds and peaks out at 207 km/h (129 mph) when traveling in a straight line. Opel engineers had to scale down the standard six-speed manual transmission of the vehicle to ensure optimal road performance.
Fuel consumption should not exceed 8 liters per 100 km (UK: 35 MPG, US: 29.5) in urban environment. Combined/mixed-cycle consumption should generally stay under 6,5 liters / 100 km (UK: 43.5 MPG, US: 36).
Base equipment will include OPC sport suspension, 215/40 R18 wheels, leather-draped seats and a sport steering wheel.
First cars will roll to their owners in Europe in 2H 2018; prices remain unknown.
