Opel Grandland spawns a hotter GSe modification

Opel has expanded its GSe lineup with the addition of the Grandland SUV. Like the Astra GSe, the new car is a petrol-electric hybrid sporting a revised appearance and tweaked suspension.

Specifically, the suspension makes use of stiffer springs and shock absorbers based on Koni tech. The steering benefits from further calibration to make it sharper and more direct.

On the outside, the sported-up Grandland has new 19-inch wheels and a different rear diffuser. The black hood cover pictured here is optional. Interior highlights include Alcantara as a trim option and sport seats with enhanced lateral support.

The drivetrain stays standard: a 1.6-liter turbo engine cooperates with dual electric motors mounted one per axle for a combined output of 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW). Getting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 6.1 seconds.
