Stellantis quietly brings diesel vans back to Europe

Stellantis Group is once again offering the diesel-powered Citroen SpaceTourer, Opel Zafira Life and Peugeot Traveller on the Old Continent.

In its effort to minimize harmful emissions across its entire vehicle lineup, the U.S. automotive corporation removed all diesel vans and minibuses from its EU lineup in early 2022, leaving only their battery-electric variants on sale. This has only led to sales plummeting in the region and the customers shifting their attention towards competitors’ offerings.

The van trio is now back in Europe, packing a 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Prices start from €41,700, which is a fair bit below the €49,400 starting point of the EVs.
