Euro NCAP has shared the results of its latest crash test session, and the team’s happy to report that the Ora Funky Cat and Wey Coffee 01 have both earned the top safety rating.
The Ora hatchback passed the test with adult passenger safety at 92%, child safety at 83%, 74% for pedestrian safety and 93% for safety aids and assists. The head-on collision was found to incur a medium risk of chest injuries for the driver and the rear seat occupants, but that’s about it.
In turn, the Wey Coffee 01 SUV was found 91% safe for adults, 87% for kids and 79% for pedestrians. Its electronic system performance earned a superb rating of 94%.
It is worth noting that both Chinese vehicles always ship with a central airbag that deploys during a strong lateral impact to protect the driver and the front passenger from bumping heads with each other. The Wey SUV also has the option for rear side airbags.
