Hypercar maker Pagani has built a special ‘BC’ edition of its Huayra Roadster for the upcoming 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California. The vehicle will likely follow in the footsteps of the Huayra BC Coupe, which comes powered by a turbocharged Mercedes-AMG V12.
The original Pagani Huayra Roadster debuted in 2017. The company said it was ‘the most challenging project’ it had ever completed. The €2,280,000 open-top car series featured a titanium/carbon body that made it 80 kilograms / 175 lbs lighter than its closed counterpart (1,280 kg / 2,820 lbs total).
Buyers may choose between two roof designs: hard-top with a glass sunroof in the middle and soft-top supported by a carbon frame. In both cases, the car comes equipped a Mercedes-AMG V12 engine boosted to deliver 764 hp (570 kW) and 1000 Nm (738 pound-feet) of torque to the wheels via a 7-speed Xtrac DSG.
The new BC is going to be even more extreme than that. In particular, it should boast around 800 hp (600 kW) straight from the factory and weigh even less than the vanilla Roadster. It should also be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) 0.1 – 0.2 s faster than its coupe predecessor (2.7 s).
