Pagani unveils the Huayra Codalunga

Pagani has ushered in a long-tailed special edition of its Huayra hypercar, the Codalunga. Designed by the automaker’s Grandi Complicazioni division for particularly complex performance vehicles, only five units will be made and sold starting from €7,000,000.

In fact, all five have been sold ahead of the public announcement. Apparently, two Pagani clients contacted the company back in 2018, asking it to build an exotic vehicle inspired by the longtails of the 1960s Le Mans racer era. This is how the Huayra Codalunga (literally ‘Longtail’) was born.

There is a powerful V12 concealed under the massive rear engine lid, hitting the wheels with 840 PS (828 hp / 618 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. As you can see on the photos, the rear end lacks any kind of grille, which explains the completely exposed titanium exhaust system. The whole system weighs only 4.4 kilograms (9.7 pounds), the company points out. The car itself tips the scales at 1,290 kg (2,844 lbs).

The paint scheme involves exclusively matte and satin shades. The interior comes trimmed with leather and adorned with processed aluminum details.
