Peugeot has voiced its intention to participate in the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland with a hybrid sports car concept characterized by being “fast and silent”.
Chances are the company will be unveiling an experimental new version of its 508 sedan, titled the Hybrid R. Rumors in the industry say the vehicle will receive a powertrain composed of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a single electric motor. Its output is being estimated at 300 hp / 224 kW or above that.
In 2015, the company unveiled the 308 R Hybrid Concept, a “hot hatch” armed with a hybrid power unit including a 1.6L turbo engine and two electric motors. Its nominal output amounted to 500 hp (373 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lbft) of torque, enabling it to accelerate the car 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in four seconds flat. The Peugeot 308 R Hybrid never made it into series, though.
