36 years ago, Peugeot produced around two hundred road-legal hot hatches (see video) based on the 205 Turbo 16 rally car. Most of them came out in a grey finish, while senior execs received four units adorned with Peugeot Talbot Sport liveries. One of these is currently up for grabs.
The exclusive quartet of Turbo 16s went to the company’s CEO-at-the-time Jean Boillot, CTO of Peugeot Sports subdivision André de Cortanze, racing driver Didier Pironi, and the current FIA CEO Jean Todt; the car on auction used to belong to the latter.
A 1.8-liter turbocharged engine sitting in the middle produces 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW) and connects to a manual transmission. The car is reported to be completely authentic and in fine running order with under 10,000 km (6,210 miles) on the odo.
The expected winning bid is €400,000.
