RM Sotheby’s will be holding an auction next month to sell a unique Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. The car dates back to the 1980s, but is expected to go for $450,000 – you could buy two mint Porsche 911 Turbos for that kind of money.
Peugeot designed the original 205 Turbo 16 for the World Rally Championship, which the car proceeded to win in 1985. The homologation series consisted of just 200 vehicles, and the example on sale is number 177.
Making it exclusive is a black factory paint – no other cars in the batch received this exterior finish. The owner had barely used it, explaining 8,700 km (5,400 miles) on the odometer.
