Changan and PSA are working together to design a new pickup truck that customers in China will receive branded as ‘Kaicene F70’ before the end of the year. In 2021, the sales will launch in Latin America as well, although the truck will bear the Peugeot badge there.
The exterior and cabin of the Chinese version were revealed in spring. The international version remains under the wraps, but the company promises new front bumper, grille and headlights.
The Kaicene F70 sports a squared-off steering wheel, a multimedia unit with a hovering touchscreen display, and a climate control interface with silver buttons underneath. Its worldwide counterpart, reportedly, will be styled more closely to the Peugeot 3008.
The Kaicene F70 will ship with a choice between two diesel engines (129 hp / 96 kWW, 151 hp / 113 kW) and a gasoline engine (182 hp / 136 kW). The Latin American variant may end up with a different selection of powertrains, likely PSA-made ones. The BlueHDI 180 diesel seems especially likely.
