Swiss dealership creates a Peugeot 208 Rallye Edition

Garages-Hotz, a car dealership based in Switzerland and specializing in Citroen/Peugeot cars, has presented a custom Peugeot 208 Rallye car series celebrating the 40 years of the Group B’s famous 205 Turbo 16 racer.

There isn’t that much new on offer. 16-inch white steelies and body-matching fender flares do help it look like a serious rally machine, and the decals all around complete the impression. The rest stays stock, though.

This implies a grey interior trim with red stitching, same-colored accents, and imitated carbon details. Only white Peugeot 208 models with halogen headlamps are offered in this limited series, with the dealership arguing that they fit the retro mood best.

Under the hood, a 1.2-liter turbo engine continues to send 100 PS (99 hp / 74 kW) to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The car weighs 1,165 kilos (2,568 lbs) and retains its stock suspension and steering.
The asking price is 24,500 Swiss francs.

Also, looking at the photos, we suspect that Garages-Hotz picked the pre-facelift version of the Peugeot 208 for the conversion. The facelift debuted this summer (see video) and went on sale in Europe earlier this month. In this case, it seems possible that the dealership had a sizable stock of outdated cars to move, so it came up with the Rallye Edition.
