Peugeot 3008 enjoys its planned update

Peugeot has rolled out a facelift of its 3008 crossover model, landing it with revised looks, equipment and drivetrain specs.

The front end of the car now looks in line with all other recent Peugeot vehicles and sports redesigned headlights and a bezel-free radiator grille with a 3D pattern. Further changes include revised bumpers and taillights, different wheels and new body colors to select from.

Inside, a new infotainment complex named i-Cockpit constitutes the main addition. In its top spec, it includes a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 10-inch multimedia screen operated by hardware buttons.

A new 1.5-liter diesel engine joins the range with 130 hp (97 kW) and two transmission choices (six-speed manual / eight-speed auto). Gasoline options include a 1.2-liter turbo rated at 130 hp (97 kW) and a 1.6-liter four-pot with 160 hp (120 kW) at the output end.

The hybrid lineup welcomes a new spec called Hybrid 225, which combines a gasoline engine dialed down to 180 hp (134 kW) and an electric motor integrated into the powertrain, contributing another 110 hp (82 kW).

Sales in Europe should start by the end of the year.
